Some of the other good neighborhoods off base that are premium locations are Kittery, Dover, Cape Neddick, NewBuryport, York Harbor, and Hampton.
Because this naval shipyard is geographically in Maine and New Hampshire, you have a lot of choices to pick from when it comes to schools. If you want to enroll your child in the schools on the base, it will be under the Kittery School District, for instance, Shapleigh School or the Robert W. Traip Academy. Also, the Southern New Hampshire University and Great Bay Community College are nice tertiary institutions in New Hampshire you could choose to go to. However, York County Community College in Maine is such an excellent place to be and it’s technically closer to the base.
