Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific, NCTAMS PAC for short, is the base responsible for Pacific Naval Telecommunications System users. There is approximately 760 personnel working under NCTAMS PAC command, and its main mission is to provide vital command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence support for coalition forces in the Pacific and Indian Ocean areas of operation. The base is located near the town of Wahiawa, located on the island of Oahu. Oahu Island, which also is home to the state capital, Honolulu, is the most populated (with a population of approximately 1 million people) out of the 8 major islands of Hawaii. The base is approximately 25 miles away from downtown Honolulu.

Housing on the NCTAMS PAC base is privatized. The base offers many types of housing, and also many amenities such as a fitness center, a bowling alley, and a dog park. If you are looking for housing off base, you should look for housing in Wahiawa or Whitmore Village, which are located just outside the base. In any case, keep in mind that rental prices and cost of living, in general, are significantly higher in Hawaii compared to the mainland, because it is an island.

There are no DoD schools on the base and there are no public schools in the base either. All public education in Hawaii is handled by the Hawaii Department of Education, it is not handled on a county level.
