Luke Air Force Base is a military base belonging to the US Air Force, and it is located in the state of Arizona. The base is a major training center for pilots of the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The base currently hosts the 56th Fighter Wing as well as the 944th Fighter Wing. It has been in operation since as far back as 1941. The closest city to the base is Glendale, Arizona, which itself is just 9 miles away from Phoenix, the state’s capital. Glendale is famous for its historic buildings and a vintage vibe, earning it the nickname “Arizona’s Antique Capital”.

Glendale is a relatively large city, and its vicinity to Phoenix means that it also features quite a busy real estate market. The most popular neighborhoods in the city are Arrowhead Ranch, N 59th Ave / W Beardsley Rd, and N 83rd Ave / W Bell Rd.

Luke Air Force Base does not have schools run by the Department of Defense, but your children can go to local public schools managed by the many school districts within the city. Some notable ones are Glendale Union High School District, Deer Valley Unified School District, and Dysart Unified School District.
