Located near the city of Little Rock, Arkansas, Little Rock Air Force Base is a military base belonging to the US Air Force. The base is the principal training base for C-130 Hercules, providing training to not only pilots but also flight engineers, navigators, and loadmasters. The base is hosting the 19th Airlift Wing, and it provides C-130 transport fleets for various purposes such as humanitarian aid and combat support. The base was first opened in 1955. Little Rock, Arkansas, the city located the closest to the base, is the capital as well as the most populous city in the state of Arkansas. Little Rock is a cultural center in the state as well as the South in general.
