For more than 100 years, Fort Liberty has housed some of the best fighting forces. It is situated in West Fayetteville, North Caroline and is one of the biggest military bases in the world with over 50,000 military personnel. This base is so large it is located in 4 different counties- Cumberland, Hoke, Harnett, and Moore. This installation houses, the US Army Forces Command, Airborne Corps, and US Army Reserve. Fayetteville, by default, is a military town because it is around several military bases like Pope Field and Fort Liberty. This makes it a prime destination for military housing.

The Fort Liberty Barracks would best serve you as a lone ranger as it has everything you would need. However, for a more comfortable and more family-friendly neighborhood, there are different communities on base that would suit you. They are Ardennes, Anzio Acres, Corregidor, Hammond Hills, Linden Oaks, Nijmegen, Normandy, Pope, and Ste Mere Eglise. You could stay off base in Fayetteville, which is 10-20 minutes away from the base. Furthermore, Southern Pines, Aberdeen, and Pinehurst could also serve as off base locations.

Children of school age living in Fort Liberty military housing can attend the DODEA schools. There are several on-base options to choose from, from daycare up to high school. These schools fall under the Fort Liberty’s School District like Bowley Elementary School, Poole Elementary, Albritton Middle School, and Shughart Middle. Still, you could choose a school off base, like schools under Cumberland County School, Harnett County School District, Hoke County School District, Lee County School District, and Moore County School District.

Despite Fort Liberty basically being a military town, it is not all serious because there are other things you could do around like rock-climbing at the Triangle Rock Club, going to the Camera Arthouse Theater to watch movies, or going to Cape Fear River Trail to fish with your buddies.
