Eielson Air Force Base is a military base of the US Air Force. It is located close to the city of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Moose Creeks, Alaska. The base has been in operation since 1943, and it received major renovations in 1948. It is currently the host of the 354th Fighter Wing, and it features a population of about 2,600 inhabitants in 2020. The city of Fairbanks, which is only 26 miles away from the base, is the second-largest city in the state of Alaska. It is also the second-most populous city in the state as well, and it hosts the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the first campus in the University of Alaska ecosystem.

On the base itself, there is no school under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense. The schools on the base are managed by the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District. These schools are Anderson Elementary School, Crawford Elementary School, and Ben Eielson Junior/Senior High School.

Fairbanks is a fairly small city, but it never runs out of fun and interesting things for individuals and families to enjoy during their free time. Some notable landmarks in the city include Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum, Running Reindeer Ranch, and the University of Alaska Museum of the North.
