Camp Talega is a part of Camp Pendleton, a military base belonging to the US Marine Corps. The camp is the northernmost camp in the Camp Pendleton system, and it is the only section of this system to not be located within San Diego County. The camp started out as a tent camp, but it grew substantially over the years. During the immediate years after Vietnam War, the camp was used to house Vietnamese refugees. The nearest city to the camp is Oceanside, CA, which is popular for its tourist attractions and pristine beaches.

Oceanside is a large city with plenty of local attractions, and it also features an attractive real estate market with a wide variety of choices for everyone. Some notable neighborhoods include Leisure Village Way / Cordoba Way and W Airport Rd / Benet Rd.

While it is not possible to find schools directly managed by the Department of Defense in Camp Talega, your children can attend local public schools, which are run by many different school districts. Some local school districts are the Oceanside Unified School District, Vista Unified School District, and Bonsall Union School District.
