The housing communities on-base offer 26 playgrounds, tennis and basketball courts, and a large pool. If you are looking for housing off-base, the relatively central location of the base will provide a big advantage, as there are many options for housing available in both Shreveport and Bossier City. Overall, Bossier City has a lower cost of living than not only Shreveport but also the national average.

There are no DoD schools on base, and there aren’t any public schools on base either. Children of service members are served by either Bossier Parish or Caddo Parish School Districts, depending on where they live.
