Wright Patterson, Air Force Base, is located in the east of Dayton, Ohio. It is also found in both Greene and Montgomery counties and is one mile from the city of Fairborn, Ohio. Since Dayton was the home of Wright Brothers home, this base is strongly linked with them. Dayton, Ohio, is the county seat of Montgomery County, which has some parts of it extending into Greene County. This city is known as the birthplace of aviation, and aerospace is part of its economy.

Apart from the Barracks, Wright Patterson AFB has provision for on-base housing in 2 family-friendly neighborhoods. It is privatized through Wright Field Development Company. The two neighborhoods are The Woods, a collection of duplexes and single-family homes. The other one is The Prairies which features a variety of housing options. Good off-base places you can stay are Patterson Park, Walnut Hills, University Row, and Shroyer Park.

This base has no schools, but students that stay on base would have to go to Fairborn Schools or Mad River Schools. These are the two closest districts. Some Mad River Schools include – Brantwood, Beverly Gardens, Virginia Stevenson, and Saville. Fairborn School District include Fairborn Primary, Fairborn Intermediate, Fairborn High School, and Baker Middle School.

Dayton, Ohio, carries a lot of American history. It shows in the many cool places to visit, such as the National Museum of the US Air Force, The Dayton Art Institute, Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, and Five Rivers MetroPark.
