Picatinny Arsenal is a military base in New Jersey situated around Wharton, a borough in Morris County. Picatinny Arsenal is an army installation that provides all of the lethal mechanisms used in Army weapon systems and other military services. The Arsenal’s mission is to support Army transformation goals and is an internationally acknowledged hub for technological and engineering innovations. Nevertheless, there are other non-base neighborhoods in the area around the base called Stanhope, Pompton Lakes, Annandale, Summit, Glen Ridge, and Upper Montclair.

As for school, students living on the base would have to go to schools under the Rockaway Township Public District for grades k-8 and Morris Hills Regional District for grades 9-13. Those schools include Alfred C MacKinnon Middle, American Christian School, Catherine A Dwyer Elementary, Morris Hill High School and Dover Public High School. Wharton itself does not have any college, but prestigious colleges around like County College of Morris, Princeton University and New York University are just a few miles from the town.

Although Wharton is a quiet town, it has some exciting places. You could go to an escape room with your friends at 13th Hour Haunted House, take your kid to the arcade at Marcade, or go kayaking at the Twin Rivers Tubing.
