Naval Academy is located adjacent to Annapolis, the capital of Maryland which forms part of the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan areaMaryland. Naval Academy is situated 25 miles south of Baltimore and 30 miles east of Washington DC. This Naval Academy is the second oldest of all US service academies, educating the next generation of United States Navy officers and the United States Marine Corps offices.

The United States Naval Academy provides privatized housing on base. Some of these include the Liberty Military Housing and the NSA Annapolis Housing Service Center. Many off base areas are not far from the Academy, like the North Severn Village, Annapolis Roads, Nautilus Point, and Bayshore Landing. It would be good to choose whatever the best option would be for you, whether on or off base.

Apart from the Naval Academy, Annapolis has a host of schools like the Annapolis School of Seamanship, and the Annapolis School of Sailing. There are also a lot of good high, middle and elementary schools around like the Annapolis Elementary School, Phoenix Academy, Annapolis Middle School and a host of others, depending on what school district you fall under.

Also, there are a lot of fun things to do around Annapolis. You can visit the Annapolis Historic District, the Quiet Water Parks, Pennsylvania Dutch Famer’s Market, and The Kunta Kinte – Alex Haley Memorial. The Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, and Banneker-Douglass Museum are also good places to visit if you want to immerse yourself in history.
