The National Response Center, DC, is a section of the National Response System federally established and staffed 24/7 by the US Coast Guard. The NRC is the designated federal contact point for reporting all etiological, biological, chemical, and radiological discharges into the environment. The NRC Coast Guard is located in the VA-27 area of DC and, as is common in Washington, is full of hustle and bustle. Washington DC is a small area with over 700,000 residents, although the number reaches over a million during the work week.

Housing in DC around the NRC Coast Guard base encompasses a particularly small area, but has reputable locations for settling. If you’re looking for houses on sale in Washington DC, you may consider neighborhoods like Filmore Apartment Gardens and Fort Myer Exchange. You can also settle in or around South Washington Boulevard, Arlington Ridge, Air Force Memorial, or in Arlington Heights Historic District. If you don’t mind the distance, you may consider Douglas Park Barcroft, Arlington Mill, and Halalco Halal Meat Groceries neighborhoods.

NRC Coast Guard has no Department of Defense (DoD) schools. However, Hoffman-Boston Elementary School is only three minutes away from the base. Washington International School is also fourteen minutes away from the NRC Coast Guard, if you don’t mind a little trip. The roads are pliable, so you can get there in a short time with your car or taxi. Other schools around NRC include the British International School and Seed Public Charter School.

In Washington, check out the Arlington National Cemetery, the U.S. Marine War Corps Memorial, the 9/11 Pentagon memorial, Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, Great Falls Parka, and US National Acamdemy. You definitely won’t run out of things to do or places to visit in this area.
