If you decide to stay on the base; you could enroll your kid in any of the public schools in North Hanover Township, Northern Burlington County Regional, or Pemberton Township school districts. But students staying in Lakehurst will attend schools under the Manchester Township School districts. Still, schools like Fort Dix Elementary and Dix Child Development Centers are elementary schools located on Fort Dix that your kids could attend. Thomas Edison State and The College of New Jersey are colleges in the area of Trenton which offer four-year degrees from business to liberal arts.
Sesame Place, Washington Crossing Historic Park, and Pennsbury Manor are kid-friendly places you and your families can visit. Trenton Social and Rho Waterfront are also fun places to go alone and have fun.
