The Douglas A. Munro Coast Guard Headquarters is located in Washington DC on the west campus of St. Elizabeths Hospital. The campus has the joint tenant of the Coast Guard Headquarters, providing homes to hundreds of the Coast Guard personnel. Other off-base neighborhoods include Cameron Station, Hayfield Farms, Falls Church City, Huntley, and Oakbrooke.
One of the notable schools around the building is the National Defense University, founded by the US DoD, located 250m west of the building. There are nineteen colleges and universities including the University of the District of Columbia, Howard University, and Trinity Washington University. High schools around the building include Schools Without Walls High School and Benjamin Banneker Academy High School. There are other schools in other counties, with slightly longer commutes; they include Langley High School in Fairfax County and Urbana High in Frederic county.
Parks and recreation, beaches, lakes, mountains, and restaurants aren’t found wanting in this area. You can visit Prince William Forest Park, National Harbor, MGM National Harbor, Ball park Boat house, Keybridge Boat House, and Amber Restaurant for a host of activities.
