Built in 1916, by the U.S. Army Air Service, this airfield began patrolling the US-Mexican border after an attack by Pancho Villa in 1919. In 1947 this facility became Biggs Air Force Base until its closure in 1966. In 1973 this air field was reactivated by the Army and is still in use today.
