The base used to have its school, Otis Memorial School, however it was closed in 2009, and children who may reside on base and attend public schools will have to go to the town of Bourne, which has elementary, intermediate, middle, and high schools. However, there are nine other public-school districts like the Barnstable public schools, Dennis-Yarmouth Regional Schools, Falmouth public schools, Provincetown public, etc. You could also choose a private school, but not all districts have private schools. Furthermore, tertiary institutions like the Bridgewater State University and the Cape Cod Community college offer diverse courses from the liberal arts to nursing.
