Arnold Air Force Base is a United States airbase in Coffee and Franklin counties, Tennessee, adjacent to the city of Tullahoma. It was built in 1950 and has been active ever since. This base is home to the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, the world's most state-of-the-art flight simulation facility.

Holston Army Ammunition Plant is known for manufacturing Research Department Explosives and High Melting Explosives. It is a government-owned and contractor-operated facility part of the US Army Joint Munitions Command. This plant produces and develops insensitive munitions explosives. Holston Army Ammunition Plant has two sites, one at Kingsport and the other at Hawkins County.

As the name implies, Milan Army Ammunition Plant is an ammunition plant for the United States Army Joint Munitions Command near Milan, Tennessee, about 23 miles north of Jackson, Tennessee. This plant is used to load, assemble, and pack ammunition, 40mm cartridges, artillery projectiles, etc. The center is about 22,357 acres big with 1,450 buildings.

Naval Support Activity Mid-South, in Millington, Tennessee, is a base of the United States Navy. NSA Mid-South serves as the Navy’s Human Resources Center of Excellence. It is situated just north of Memphis and was established in 1917. This base has over 7,500 enlisted personnel, including civilian and contract workers.

The Dyess Air Force Base is located close to downtown Abilene, Texas. This base has a rich history and has had many name changes over the years. In 1942, the Abilene Army Airbase was opened, changing its name to Abilene Army Airfield in 1943. This was originally a flying training center for cadets and was closed in 1946.

A part of Air Education and Training Command, Goodfellow Air Force Base was built in 1940 and continues to be an active United Air Force Base. This is a non-flying base that is primarily a training facility. Goodfellow AFB provides cryptologic and intelligence training for members of the Air Force, Space Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, and Marine Corps.

Lackland Air Force Base is located in Bexar County, Texas, and is an enclave of the city of San Antonio. The base, under the jurisdiction of the 802nd Mission Support Group, Air Education, and Training Command, is home to the only facility for Air Force enlisted Basic Military Training (BMT).

Laughlin Air Force Base is located east of Del Rio, Texas and serves as a training facility for pilots. Built in 1943 as Laughlin Army Airfield and focused on training pilots for WWII, this air field was closed in 1945. In 1952 this facility was reopened as Laughlin Air Force Base with a mission to once again train pilots for war.

Randolph Air Force Base is located in Universal City, Texas, just outside of San Antonio. Opened in 1931, this base served as a training facility for pilots for the United States Army Air Corps, The United States Army Air Forces, and the Air Force during its time of operation. In 2010, Randolph Air Force base merged with Lackland Air Force Base and Fort Sam Houston to form Joint Base San Antonio.

Sheppard Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base located just north of the central business district of Wichita Falls, in Wichita County, Texas. The largest training base and most diversified in Air Education and Training Command, Sheppard AFB was activated in 1941 as Sheppard Field, a United States Army Air Corps training center.

Fort Bliss, with its history from 1848, was built in its present location in 1849 and is still in use today. This is a very large installation that stretches from El Paso, Texas to the Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico.

Fort Cavazos is a United States military post situated near Killeen, Texas. It is located between Austin and Waco, around 60 miles from each. Fort Cavazos is meant to train and deploy heavy forces and is 214,968 acres making it the biggest military installation globally.
