According to several sources, Newport is said to be the sailing capital of the world and is called the city by the sea. Newport is located on an island, specifically along the southern part of Rhode Island.

Station Point Judith was constructed in 1876 on Point Judith, around Point Judith Light, one and a half-mile of Point Judith Harbor of Refuge. It is a coast guard station in Narragansett, Rhode Island was opened for service in 1876 and was rebuilt in 1888-1889. Station Point Judith does search and rescue missions, maintenance of lighthouses, buoys, and other equipment.

Naval Station Newport is located in the city of Newport in the town of Middletown, Rhode Island. It is the home to the Naval War College, Naval Justice School, and more than 42 Naval and Defense commands and activities. This military base is a significant site for the education and training of officers, senior enlisted personnel, midshipman candidates.

Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island is an 8,095-acre military base located on Parris Island in Port Royal, South Carolina, approximately 5 miles south of Beaufort, the community that is typically associated with the installation. This military installation is used for the United States Marine Corps Recruit Training of enlisted United States Marines.

The Naval Hospital Beaufort is a military hospital in Port Royal, north of Beaufort, South Carolina. It is situated close to Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort and Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. Since being built in 1949, it has served all the bases around, including the neighborhood of Laurel Bay. The city of Beaufort is home to several bases, including Naval Hospital.

Naval Hospital Charleston is part of several military hospitals controlled by the United States Navy. The facility was established in Charleston, around the eastern part of South Carolina. It is among the oldest continuously running medical centers in the United States of America. The military hospital is part of the Charleston Naval Hospital Historic District.

Naval Weapons Station Charleston was commissioned in 1941 and had two separate missions: the home for two strategic submarine squadrons and a station with a capacity for more than 60 million pounds of conventional ordnance. Till today Charleston Weapons Station is the only military installation in the continental U.S. Naval Weapons Station that produces and stores ordnance.

Ellsworth Air Force Base is a United States Base that is situated 10 miles northeast of Rapid City, South Dakota, north of the town of Box Elder near Rapid City. Ellsworth AFB was commissioned in 1941 and is assigned to the Global Strike Command's Eighth Air Force. This base has a population of 8,000 employees and their family members.
