The Air Force Academy, or The United States Air Force Academy, has an average student body population of over four thousand cadets per year, and it is located within El Paso County, which is nine miles away from the city center of Colorado Springs.

This space force base located in Aurora, Colorado has undergone multiple transformations since its founding in 1938. In fact, its most recent change came as recently as 2021 when it changed its name from the Buckley Air Force Base to its current title.

Cheyenne Mountain Space Station (CMSS) is located on the Cheyenne Mountain range in El Paso County of Colorado, and conveniently, it is only nine miles away from the Colorado Springs city proper. Many people may initially feel squeamish about eschewing the convenience of living on-base for a life off base, but that’s only because of the two following problems:1.

Peterson Space Force Base - formerly known as the Peterson Air Force Base - is located seven miles from the city center of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Supporting a personnel population of over eight thousand would be difficult for most bases in most states, but Peterson Space Force Base personnel are fortunate to be in such close proximity to the city of Colorado Springs.

Formerly known as the Falcon Air Force Station, the relatively young Schriever Space Force Base (neighboring base, Fort Carson, has been operational for forty years longer than Schriever SFB) is a host to over eight thousand personnel. One of Schriever Space Force Base’s main assets is the fact that it is located only twenty miles from the Colorado Springs city center.

Operational since 1942, Fort Carson is affectionately known as the “Best Hometown in the Army” and it’s easy to see where that name originates.

As the name suggests, the Pueblo Chemical Depot is entirely focused on chemical materials and / or chemical treatments. In fact, it is one of the only two operational bases that remains responsible for the handling and subsequent disposal of chemical materials in the United States military.

Eielson Air Force Base is a military base of the US Air Force. It is located close to the city of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Moose Creeks, Alaska. The base has been in operation since 1943, and it received major renovations in 1948. It is currently the host of the 354th Fighter Wing, and it features a population of about 2,600 inhabitants in 2020.

ISC Kodiak is a major naval base of the US Coast Guard. Situated in Kodiak, Alaska, the base was first constructed in 1941. It now hosts many facilities of the Coast Guard as well as other branches, with the largest and most prominent tenant unit being Air Station Kodiak, the largest Coast Guard Base. The city of Kodiak, where the base is situated, is the main community on Kodiak Island.

Fort Greely is a US military base in the state of Alaska, and it is situated in a rather isolated location. Its nearest urbanized city is Fairbanks, Alaska, which is located 100 miles away from the base. The base is a launch site for anti-ballistic missiles, which will intercept ballistic missiles heading towards the US.

Fort Wainwright is a military installation in the state of Alaska in the USA. The base is located within the vicinity of the city of Fairbanks, Alaska, and it is a part of the Fairbanks North Star Suburbs area. The base was first built in 1941 as Ladd Field, but it changed its name to the current one in 1961, after general Jonathan M. Wainwright.

Marine Safety Unit Valdez is a marine base located in the city of Valdez, Alaska, about 304 miles east of Anchorage. The base’s main operations include clearing oil spills, inspecting for marine casualties and local facilities. During an oil spill incidence in 1989, the unit was the first to respond to the incidence, which catapulted its popularity.
